Feature: the Monday update
Monday, 8 a.m.: everyone on the deal is caught up.
Every Monday at 8, the broker, the deal team and each seller get their own one-page due-diligence update from ClosingVault: what came in, what is still missing and the dates to closing. Nobody writes a status email, and each person sees only their side of the room.

What is in the Monday update?
One page, written for the person’s role: the checklist status (items resolved, and what is still needed from them), this week’s activity (documents added, checklist items resolved, questions answered) and the timeline to target closing, with the exclusivity range on it.
How does it work, step by step?
- The room keeps the facts. Uploads, filed items and answered questions are already on the room’s record.
- Monday at 8, it goes out. The broker, the deal team and each seller get their own edition.
- Each sees their side. A seller’s edition shows what is still needed from them.
- The room admin adjusts it. Change the day, or add the buyer in exclusivity.
Between Mondays, buyers are told once a day at most when new documents open to them.
Why does it matter in a lower-middle-market deal?
Keeping everyone current is the job nobody on a deal has time for, so status ends up in phone calls and scattered emails. The Monday update puts the same facts in every inbox, each written for its reader, so the calls are about the gaps, not the status.
How is it different from other data rooms?
None of the seven low-cost rooms on our comparison, checked on their own sites on 2026-11-03, states a weekly status for each party. Activity alerts are common, and SecureDocs lists them too; the Monday update is different because it reports the checklist, not just the clicks.
Monday update questions
I’m a broker and my sellers keep calling for status. Will they get the update too?
Yes. Each seller gets their own one-page update every Monday at 8: what came in, what is still needed from them and the dates to closing.
Does the buyer get the weekly email?
The room admin can add the buyer in exclusivity. Each person sees only their side of the room.
Can the update go out on a different day?
Yes. The room admin can change the day.
Do I have to write anything?
No. The update is built from the room itself: documents added, checklist items resolved and questions answered that week, with the timeline to target closing.
Does the update show the exclusivity dates?
Yes. The timeline carries the exclusivity range alongside the target closing date.
